Brief Introduction of Yu Lina Violin Art Fund
Yu Lina Violin Art Fund is the first art fund in China that is named after
the artist.
Yu Lina,who was born in Shanghai,was the Director of Studies for Violin and
Viola of Shanghai College of Music.In 1959,Yu Lina,at the age of 18,became
famous overnight for her first concert on violin concerto of Liang Shanbo and
Zhu Yingtai.In 1960,she bore the palm in Berlin's Second Schumann International
String Quartet Competition for her primo violin performance,becoming the first
Chinese national to receive such awards in international string music
competition.For more than thirty years,Yu Lina has not only actively put up
violin performance at home,but also performed abroad and often assumed the job
of judge in domestic and international violin competitions.Her students also
frequently win various awards in violin competitions at home and abroad.
Charter of Yu Lina Violin Art Fund
Chapter One General Principle
Article 1:Yu Lina Violin Art Fund (hereinafter referred to as the Fund)is a
special fund authorized by and subjected to Shanghai Cultural Development
Foundation.
Article 2:The mission of the Fund is to promote the development and the
prosperity of violin art of our nation,to promote the creation of violin pieces
through various channels,to foster talents of violin performance,to increase the
public awareness of art and to boost the degree of social publicity;Meanwhile,it
strengthens the communication and cooperation of violin art between
organizations home and abroad,consequently making contributions to the nation's
cultural undertakings.
Article 3:The Fund firmly abides by the nation's related law and regulation
and the charter of Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation.
Chapter Two Mission
Article 4:The Fund shall,through various channels and measures,strive after
imbursement and contributions from organizations and individuals who show great
interests in the cause of violin art both at home and abroad.
Article 5:The Fund constructively promotes the development and the
prosperity of violin art of our nation,sponsors and supports the creation of
violin pieces,fosters talents of violin performance and boosts the communication
with abroad.
Article 6:The Fund collects and preserves old violins as a way to support
violin-related activities.
Chapter Three The Council
Article 7:The Council is an authoritative institution of the Fund,and it
consists of violin artists,entrepreneurs and representatives from Shanghai
Cultural Development Foundation.The Council convenes irregularly depending on
the needs.
Article 8:The Council has one Honorary Chairman,one Chairman,several Vice
Chairmen and several Trustees.The Chairman and Vice Chairmen are elected for a
term of four years,and can be re-elected.
Article 9:The functions and powers of the Council are:
1.To constitute and amend the Charter of the Foundation;
2.To elect the Chairman and Vice Chairmen;
3.To examine and approve the project plans submitted for grant and the sums
of grant;
4.To decide on financial assistance projects and examine the fulfillments
of the project plans;
5.To decide on other major issues of the Foundation.
Article 10:The Fund's daily work is presided by the Chairman.
Chapter Four Trustees and Others
Article 11:Representatives of organizations and individuals at home and
abroad can be approved to be members of the Fund as long as they accede to the
Charter,show great enthusiasm in the cause of nation's violin art and take on
some necessary assignments in the Fund.
Article 12:Trustees have the right to participate in and supervise all
kinds of work and to join all kinds of activities in the Fund.Also,they have the
obligation to abide by the Fund's Chapter,to execute resolutions made by the
Council and actively accomplish the task assigned by the Fund.
Article 13:The work of Council's Secretary and the Fund's financial affairs
is done by the Secretariat and Accounting Department of the Shanghai Cultural
Development Foundation.
Chapter Five Funds
Article 14:The sources of the Fund are:funds for cultural activities given
by the government,contributions from individuals or organizations at home and
abroad as well as other legal incomes.
Article 15:The Fund is managed under the related requirement of Charter of
Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation.
Article 16:The funds are utilized in violin-related items and
activities.The Foundation's outlay should be signed both by the Chairman and
authorized representatives from Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation.
Article 17:The maintenance and increment of funds are under the supervision
and management of Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation.The funds can be
deposited in the financial institutions to take in interest and can be used to
purchase bonds,but it cannot be used as venture investment.The increment of the
funds is in the possession of Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation.
Article 18:The funds abide by the related finance system,audit system and
social supervision system of Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation.The Fund
implements an independent system of accounting and account opening and reports
to the Council about the annual Budget and Final Account.
Article 19:When the sum of the funds is less than RMB10,000Yuan,the funds
should be brought forward for accounting purposes.After liquidation,the asset is
still in the possession of Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation,and the
funds shall be disbanded simultaneously.

Article 20:The Council is entitled the sole right to the interpretation and
amendment of the Charter.
